Sub-Committee B considered this document, and
your Explanatory Memordum, at its meeting on 4 December 2006.
We agree that this document should be welcomed,
and that within what is necessarily a broad based approach to
innovation policy, it is important that the Competitiveness Council
should focus on a limited number of concrete actions.
We note your concerns over the proposed measures
to improve the European patent system, and would be grateful if
you kept us informed on negotiations over these measures.
We are content to lift scrutiny on this document.
