The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Home Office (Lord West of Spithead): In accordance with the Immigration and Nationality (Fees) Regulations 2007, where a visa application is to be accompanied by a specified fee, the application is not considered to be valid until that fee has been paid. I therefore confirm that a visa application is deemed to be lodged on the date that the required fee is paid.
