The Conduct of Lord Moonie, Lord Snape, Lord Truscott and Lord Taylor of Blackburn - Privileges Committee Contents

Letter to Baroness Prashar from Lord Harris of Haringey, Monday 26 January 2009

Dear Baroness Prashar,

SUNDAY TIMES ARTICLES—25 JANUARY 2009

I am writing to you in your capacity as Chairman of the Committee of Privileges Sub-Committee on Lords' Interests. I was not named in yesterday's articles in The Sunday Times. However, as I was approached by the under-cover journalists in question, I feel it would be appropriate to give evidence to any inquiry your Sub-Committee may conduct.

I am confident that I did not breach any of the House's rules, nor did I offer to do so. Nevertheless, as I was the subject of the journalists' deception and attempted entrapment, it is clearly important that you have the opportunity to question me.

  Yours sincerely,

  Toby Harris

(Lord Harris of Haringey)
