Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Bill

Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Bill

Session 2005-06
Other Bills before Parliament

Short Title of the Bill
Make provision in connection with the protection of children and vulnerable adults.

Extract from Explanatory Note produced by Government Department
The current system for vetting people who wish to work with children or vulnerable adults operates through employers obtaining a CRB disclosure for new job applicants. CRB disclosures give employers information about an individual's criminal records history, which informs their assessments about the individual's suitability to work with children or vulnerable adults.
