ISSUES FOR
FLOOD ENQUIRY
I live in Stroud in Gloucestershire and was
directly affected by the recent flooding.
I recommend that the inquiry is targeted largely
towards the causes of the floods. It should make clear to what
extent the floods were;
(a) the result of climate change
(b) the result of disruption to natural drainage
and flood control systems by development of road building, housing
and other developments.
The inquiry should also make recommendations
as to what short, medium and long term changes to the above issues
need to be made to prevent such flooding recurring.
