| 1 Households found to be eligible for assistance, unintentionally homeless and falling within a priority need group, and consequently owed a main homelessness duty. Figures prior to 1997 reflect decisions taken under the 1985 Housing Act; subsequent decisions made under the 1996 Housing Act, plus any residual 1985 Act cases. the 1985 Housing Act, included a small number of non-priority need acceptances; subsequent decisions were made under the 1996 Housing Act, plus residual 1985 Act cases.
