6 Freedom of Information (Amendment) Bill A bill to amend the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to exempt from its provisions the House of Commons and House of Lords and correspondence between Members of Parliament and public authorities was brought from the Commons. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 73)
7 Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Bill The Commons amendment was considered.
Motion A Lord Rooker moved that the House do not insist on Lords amendment 3 and do agree with Commons amendment 3A in lieu. Then Lord Trimble moved (Motion A1) as an amendment thereto, at end to insert but do propose amendments 3B to 3D to Commons amendment 3A. Motion A1 was disagreed to (see division list). Then Motion A was agreed to and a message was sent to the Commons.
8 Planning White Paper Baroness Andrews repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.
9 Offender Management Bill The bill was further considered in Committee, beginning with amendment 12. Amendments were agreed to. The House resumed.
10 Universities: research funding A question was asked by Baroness Sharp of Guildford and, after debate, answered by Lord Adonis.
11 Offender Management Bill The bill was further considered in Committee, beginning with amendment 23. The House resumed after amendment 37.
The House adjourned at 10.11pm until Tuesday 22 May at 2.30pm.
