Prayers were read by the Lord Bishop of Coventry 1 Baroness Warsi Sayeeda Hussain Warsi, having been created Baroness Warsi, of Dewsbury in the County of West Yorkshire, for life by Letters Patent dated 11 October 2007, was introduced between Lord Strathclyde and Baroness Morris of Bolton, and took and subscribed the oath (see Appendix 1). 2 Baroness Neville-Jones Dame Lilian Pauline Neville-Jones, DCMG, having been created Baroness Neville-Jones, of Hutton Roof in the County of Cumbria, for life by Letters Patent dated 15 October 2007, was introduced between Lord King of Bridgwater and Lord Taylor of Holbeach, and took and subscribed the oath (see Appendix 2). Public Business 3 Energy: gas supplies A question was asked by Lord Ezra and answered by Lord Jones of Birmingham. 4 Taxation: corporation tax A question was asked by Lord Teverson and answered by Lord Davies of Oldham. 5 Debt and pensions: advice A question was asked by Lord Oakeshott of Seagrove Bay and answered by Lord McKenzie of Luton. 6 Speaker’s Conference: voting systems A question was asked by Baroness Thomas of Winchester and answered by Lord Hunt of Kings Heath. 7 Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Bill The report stage was continued, beginning with amendment 191. Amendments were agreed to. The report stage was adjourned. The House adjourned. The House resumed. 8 Guidance issued under section 182 of the Licensing Act 2003 Lord Clement-Jones moved to resolve that this House disapproves the Guidance laid before the House on 28 June. After debate, the motion was withdrawn. 9 Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Bill The report stage was continued, beginning with amendment 217A. Amendments were agreed to. The bill, as amended, was ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 106) The House adjourned at 10.26pm until Tuesday 16 October at 2.30pm. Negative Instruments The following instruments were laid before the House: 1 Toot Hill School (School Day and School Year Regulations) Order 2007, laid under the Education Act 2002. (2921) 2 Agricultural Holdings (Units of Production) (England) Order 2007, laid under the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986. (2968) 3 Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 4) Regulations 2007, laid under the European Communities Act 1972. (2970) Paper not subject to parliamentary proceedings The following paper was laid before the House: Report and Accounts for 2006-07 of the sportscotland Lottery Fund, laid under the National Lottery etc. Act 1993.
