Prayers were read by the Lord Bishop of Coventry Page 849 2006-07 Volume 240 Back to top1 Lord Janvrin The Rt Hon Sir Robin Berry Janvrin, GCB, GCVO, having been created Baron Janvrin, of Chalford Hill in the County of Gloucestershire, for life by Letters Patent dated 10 October 2007, was introduced between Lord Fellowes and Lord Jay of Ewelme, and took and subscribed the oath (see Appendix 1). 2 Baroness Garden of Frognal Susan Elizabeth, Lady Garden, widow of Timothy Lord Garden, KCB, having been created Baroness Garden of Frognal, of Hampstead in the London Borough of Camden, for life by Letters Patent dated 16 October 2007, was introduced between Lord Roper and Baroness Neuberger, and took and subscribed the oath (see Appendix 2). Public Business 3 Energy: Caythorpe gas storage facility A question was asked by Lord Jenkin of Roding and answered by Baroness Andrews. 4 Aviation: air quality A question was asked by Lord Tyler and answered by Lord Bassam of Brighton. 5 Iraq: withdrawal A question was asked by Lord Dykes and answered by Lord Drayson. 6 National Health Service dentistry A question was asked by Baroness Gardner of Parkes and answered by Baroness Royall of Blaisdon. 7 Further Education and Training Bill [HL] The Commons amendments were considered. Motion A Commons amendments 8B, 8C, 8D, 8E, 8F and 8G were agreed to. 8 Alcohol harm reduction strategy A question was asked by Lord Avebury and, after debate, answered by Baroness Royall of Blaisdon. 9 Education: science and mathematics A question was asked by Lord Bilimoria and, after debate, answered by Lord Adonis. The House adjourned at 2.57pm until Monday 22 October at 2.30pm. Instrument coming into operation before being laid The Lord Speaker informed the House that she had received, under the proviso to section 4(1) of the Statutory Instruments Act 1946, notification that the following instrument had come into operation before being laid before Parliament, together with an explanation: Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 5) Regulations 2007, laid under the European Communities Act 1972.
