In evidence to the Committee on 21 March, I
explained that a research student at my university had examined
reports on data held in the Schengen system, and that according
to the Data Protection Supervisors in some of the German Lander
and in France and the Netherlands the quality of data in the Schengen
Information System, which is collected for law enforcement purposes,
had an inaccuracy or improper mechanism of use of up to 40 per
cent.
I undertook to provide the Committee with the
sources of the reports of the Data Protection Supervisors. They
are as follows:
