Minister for Sustainable Farming and Food, Department for Environment,
Food and Rural Affairs
Thank you for your Explanatory Memorandum of
9 January which Sub-Committee D (Environment and Agriculture)
considered at its meeting on 1 February.
The Committee considers it essential that the
revised sustainable development strategy should propose specific
targets and implementation dates for achieving progress. It is
important that the EU builds on the progress made already by taking
concrete action to meet its sustainable development objectives.
The Committee decided to retain the proposal
under scrutiny pending receipt of the Regulatory Impact Assessment.
