Sub-Committee D (Environment and Agriculture)
has held a preliminary consideration of the above Commission documents,
together with your Explanatory Memorandum dated 10 July.
This is in our view an important subject of
EU reform and we shall be returning to it after the recess. In
the meantime we are grateful to you for referring the Commission's
outline proposals to us, which we wish to retain under scrutiny.
