Public Business 1 Parking A question was asked by Lord Teverson and answered by Lord Bach. 2 Human Rights: same-sex relationships A question was asked by Lord Lester of Herne Hill and answered by Lord Hunt of Kings Heath. 3 European Union: French presidency A question was asked by Lord Dykes and answered by Lord Malloch-Brown. 4 Local government: roads A question was asked by Lord Berkeley and answered by Lord Bassam of Brighton. 5 Business of the House Baroness Royall of Blaisdon, on behalf of the Lord President (Baroness Ashton of Upholland), moved that Standing Order 47 (No two stages of a Bill to be taken on one day) be dispensed with on Friday 18 July to allow the Finance Bill and the Consolidated Fund (Appropriation) (No. 2) Bill to be taken through their remaining stages that day. The motion was agreed to. 6 Business of the House Baroness Royall of Blaisdon, on behalf of the Lord President (Baroness Ashton of Upholland), moved that, in the event of the Criminal Evidence (Witness Anonymity) Bill being read a second time, Standing Order 47 (No two stages of a Bill to be taken on one day) be dispensed with on Tuesday 15 July to allow it to be taken through its remaining stages that day. The motion was agreed to. 7 Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (Investigative Powers of Prosecutors in England, Wales and Northern Ireland: Code of Practice) Order 2008 Northern Ireland (Sentences) Act 1998 (Specified Organisations) Order 2008 Maternity and Parental Leave etc. and the Paternity and Adoption Leave (Amendment) Regulations 2008 Baroness Royall of Blaisdon, on behalf of the Lord President (Baroness Ashton of Upholland), moved that the draft statutory instruments be referred to a Grand Committee en bloc. The motion was agreed to. 8 Powers of Entry etc. Bill [HL] The report was received. 9 G8: 2008 summit The Lord President (Baroness Ashton of Upholland) repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons. 10 Criminal Evidence (Witness Anonymity) Bill Lord Hunt of Kings Heath moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House. 11 Statute Law (Repeals) Bill [HL] The bill was returned from the Commons agreed to. The House adjourned at 7.07pm until 2.30pm on Monday 14 July.
