8    Counter-Terrorism Lord West of Spithead repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.

9    Planning Bill The bill was further considered in Committee, beginning with amendment 41. The House resumed.

10    European Parliament (House of Lords Disqualification) Regulations 2008 Lord Trefgarne moved that a Humble Address be presented to Her Majesty praying that the Regulations, laid before the House on 24 June, be annulled (SI 2008/1647). After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

The House adjourned. The House resumed.

11    Planning Bill The bill was further considered in Committee, beginning with amendment 88. The House resumed after clause 34 was agreed to.

The House adjourned at 12.35am on Wednesday 15 October until 3.00pm the same day.

Judicial Business

1    Spencer-Franks (Appellant) v Kellogg Brown and Root Limited and others (Respondents) (Scotland) Further to the Order of the House of Wednesday 2 July 2008 (56th Report, Session 2007-08; [2008] UKHL 46) it is ordered that the respondents do pay or cause to be paid to the appellant his expenses in this matter incurred in the Sheriff Court and in the Court of Session in Scotland; that, of consent, the cause be certified as suitable for the employment of counsel in the Sheriff Court; that the respondents do pay or cause to be paid to the appellant his costs in this House, the amount of such costs to be certified by the Clerk of the Parliaments if not agreed between the parties; and that the respondents be jointly and severally liable to make such all such payments or cause such payments to be made.

2    Lexington Insurance Company (Respondents) v AGF Insurance Limited (Appellants) and one other action The appeal was set down for hearing and referred to an Appellate Committee (lodged 17 July).
