11900. CHAIRMAN: I am not going to stop
you giving evidence, if that is what you are doing. I thought
you were in fact presenting a petition rather than giving evidence.
11901. MS KHELA: No.
11902. CHAIRMAN: You are giving evidence?
11903. MS KHELA: I am quoting from something
which I believe is relevant.
11904. CHAIRMAN: Are you giving evidence
or are you presenting a petition?
11905. MS KHELA: I am presenting a petition
on the basis of information which I believe is pertinent.
11906. CHAIRMAN: It is no use quoting
a lot of other people, what they said, unless you call them to
give evidence. Are you going to call them?
11907. MS KHELA: I think it is relevant
because this report—
11908. CHAIRMAN: Ms Khela, I am going
to tell you what is relevant and what is not. If you want to quote
from what other people have said, they have to come and give evidence.
11909. MS KHELA: Even if they have recommended
that this report should be followed by other major projects and
this Committee has heard about—
11910. CHAIRMAN: It does not make any
difference what they recommended. If you want to quote from them,
as the presenter of a petition, you call them to give evidence.
11911. MS KHELA: On the basis that this
Committee decided on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link—
11912. CHAIRMAN: I am sorry; we are not
interested in what they did.
11913. MS KHELA: On the basis of the
Community Liaison Panel, information was received by this Committee
and I did not hear anybody hearing evidence on the basis on which
it was determined that that tripartite arrangement was not more
than what we are claiming it to be, but we do have the report
from December 2006 which explains exactly how that tripartite
arrangement worked and we would like—
11914. CHAIRMAN: Is this the Channel
Tunnel Rail Link?
11915. MS KHELA: Yes, it is, but it is
the Camden Council Report.
11916. CHAIRMAN: Have you ever seen this,
Mr Elvin?
11917. MS KHELA: We have sent it to both
parties. Unfortunately nobody seems to acknowledge emails any
more.
11918. CHAIRMAN: One of the fairly basic
procedures in these sorts of events is that if you are going to
start quoting from documents you should show them to the other
side, not now but plenty of time before, so they can consider
them. It is no use Mr Elvin starting now to look at this.
11919. MS KHELA: We have been quoting
the arrangements of the King's Cross residents since 2007.
