15 European Union: United Kingdom membership (5-hour debate) Lord McNally moved for papers relating to the United Kingdom’s membership of the European Union and to the contribution which the European Union can make to the pursuit of United Kingdom national interests and to the management of global problems. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.
16 Lord Chancellor (Modification of Functions) Order 2007 Lord Evans of Temple Guiting moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 16 April be approved. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
17 Building Societies (Funding) and Mutual Societies (Transfers) Bill Lord Naseby moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
