14    European Union: Lisbon Treaty The Lord President (Baroness Ashton of Upholland) repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.

15    Scotland Act 1998 (Transfer of Functions to the Scottish Ministers etc.) Order 2008 Lord Davies of Oldham moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 8 May be approved. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

16    Health and Social Care Bill The report stage was continued, beginning with amendment 7. Amendments were agreed to. The report stage was adjourned after amendment 29.

The House adjourned at 10.11pm until 2.30pm on Tuesday 17 June.

Grand Committee Business

The Grand Committee met in the Moses Room at 3.30pm.

Housing and Regeneration Bill The Grand Committee further considered the bill, beginning with amendment 102ZD. Amendments were agreed to. Clause 184 was disagreed to. The committee adjourned after amendment 110ZA.

Judicial Business

1    R (on the application of Wright and others) (Appellants) v Secretary of State for Health and another (Respondents) The petition of the appellants praying that the time for lodging the statement and appendix and setting down the cause for hearing might be extended to 1 July (the agents for the respondents consenting thereto) was presented; and it was ordered as prayed.

2    Appeal Committee The 81st Report from the Appeal Committee was agreed to and the following Orders were made:

Olafsson (Respondent) v Gissurarson (Petitioner) That leave to appeal be refused; that the respondent be at liberty to apply for his costs in accordance with direction 5.1(d); and, if the application is granted, that the amount thereof be certified by the Clerk of the Parliaments if not agreed between the parties.
