Employment Bill [HL] — Government Amendment
16. We reported on this bill in our 3rd Report (HL Paper 26). The Government invited us to consider an amendment to be moved on Report, amendment 16 in the marshalled list (HL Bill 49-I), and agreed to on 19 May. The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform that day provided a supplementary memorandum on the amendment, printed at Appendix 4. There is nothing in the amendment which we would have wished to draw to the attention of the House but it is inconvenient that the memorandum was provided on the afternoon that the amendment was moved in the House, especially when the amendment itself was tabled on 12 May.
